Cheryl L. Yattaw Pease, 36, died unexpectedly Feb. 3, 2010, at her home in Portland.

Born in Rockland on Oct. 20, 1973, she was the daughter of Lewis Sr. and Karen Brann Yattaw. Cheryl attended Thomaston schools and was a 1993 graduate of Georges Valley High School.

For many years Cheryl has been employed as a clerk for different area convenience stores. For the past six months she has been a resident of Portland.

Cheryl’s greatest joy in life was her son, Hunter. She enjoyed spending time with him, camping and swimming at Beaver Lodge.

She loved cooking and was considered an accomplished cook. Knitting and crocheting were also crafts she enjoyed.

Cheryl’s family said she truly enjoyed hanging out with her family and loved her son.

She was predeceased by her father and her brother, Lewis Yattaw Jr.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Karen Yattaw; her son, Hunter Yattaw, both of Spruce Head; her sisters, Melanie Saunders and her husband, Derek, of Thomaston and Robin Spaulding and her husband, Gerald, of St. George; her nieces, Amber and Nicole of Thomaston; her nephew, William Saunders of Thomaston; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, Feb. 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. Pastor Mitch Ross will officiate.
