Wendy Andresen will bring Cosi the house bunny to Merryspring Nature Center to demonstrate the joys and challenges of having rabbits as house pets Tuesday, Feb. 16 at noon.

Cosi will show off his toys, litter box, eating habits and cardboard castle. Andresen will discuss the many pleasures and responsibilities of keeping rabbits as indoor pets. Parents need not fear that rabbits will be promoted as the perfect pets for children, as the special needs of bunnies and the associated expense will be emphasized.

Andresen is a volunteer educator for the House Rabbit Society, the country’s largest and most well recognized nonprofit rabbit rescue and education organization. She also is a regular volunteer at Merryspring, where she helps to maintain the perennial flower gardens and gives a popular summer lecture series on their care.

Merryspring members and all children attend talks free, and there is a charge of $5 for non-members.

Merryspring is a member-supported, nonprofit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Route 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information call Merryspring at 236-2239 or visit merryspring.org.
