Hammon Buck will give a slide presentation titled “What’s New for 2010?” at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at noon. Attendees will find out what new annuals, perennials and shrubs will be this year’s highlights.

Buck, a graduate of Cornell University, has been observing the Maine garden landscape for more than 30 years from his vantage point as the founder of Plants Unlimited. As the proprietor of a garden center, he is familiar with the plants that prosper in this environment. He has developed an ability to distinguish what new introductions will be suited to Maine.

Merryspring members and all children attend talks free, and there is a charge of $5 for non-members.

Merryspring is a member-supported, nonprofit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Route 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information, call Merryspring at 236-2239 or visit merryspring.org.
