Army National Guard Capt. Zebulan V. Murray is returning to the United States after a deployment to Iraqi or Afghanistan in support of operation Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.

Murray and other soldiers will return to Fort Dix, N.J., for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.

Murray, a field artillery officer, is a member of the 286th Combat Support and Sustainment Battalion of Bangor. He has served in the military for 11 years.

He is the son of Vincent M. and Rebecca A. Murray of Martzville Road in Hope.

The captain graduated in 1997 from Camden Rockport High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2001 from Unity College.
