Kenny Cole of Monroe and Natasha Mayers of Whitefield, along with a new coalition of Maine peace groups called Bring Our War $$ Home, are organizing a draw-a-thon/gathering of visionaries, artists and non-artists Saturday, Feb. 13 at the UCC Church, 150 Congress St.

Artists and poets should assemble at 10 a.m. to create images and words that illustrate how the $2.5 billion of Maine taxpayers’ money that has already been wasted on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars could be otherwise spent. The public is invited to a 5 p.m. community potluck supper, followed by a poetry reading with Maine Poet Laureate Betsy Sholl, Henry Braun, Chris Crittenden, Jim Mello and more, with music by Hana Maris.

Snow date is Feb. 27. For more information, contact Mayers at 549-7516 or mayersnatasha@gmail.com; or Bruce Gagnon at 443-9502 or globalnet@mindspring.com.
