Fish chowder supper

SOUTH THOMASTON — A public fish chowder supper will be held at Peoples United Methodist Church in South Thomaston on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children; those 4 years and younger are free. The supper is to benefit the music program of the church. Chowder is made by master chowder Adrian Hooydonk and his wife. Waldoboro Wilderness Church

WALDOBORO — Wilderness Church is located on Route 235 (2160 Union Road) just 5 miles off Route 1 in Waldoboro. It is a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching, disciple-making church. The Rev. Murray B. Davis is the pastor. The schedule includes children and adult Sunday school classes at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. A nursery is provided. The church is wheelchair and handicap accessible. Youth group to serve stew dinner to support Haitian people

UNION — The Union Peoples United Methodist Church youth group will sponsor, cook and serve a stew dinner Saturday, Feb. 20 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the church, 29 Depot St., behind the Union Post Office.

All the money collected will go directly to World Vision’s Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund. World Vision has been on Haiti for more than 30 years in the rural regions. They were able to respond and bring emergency relief personnel and supplies to Port-O-Prince within the first day of the earthquake. They will be there for many decades to come, helping to bring self-sufficiency to the Haitian people.

The youth group will serve a vegetable stew as well as a beef stew, plus green salad, bread and dessert. The suggested donation is $8 for adults and $6 for children, with a $25 maximum for a family.
