An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls from Jan. 25 to Jan. 31.

As part of an ongoing investigation, Trooper Patrick Hood charged Frank Maddocks, 38, with burglary and theft in Appleton. The complainant reported the theft of power tools and a generator. The property was recovered.

Jan. 25

Hood investigated the theft of downhill skis from a garage on Weston Road in Owls Head. The complainant reported the theft had occurred over the last several days.

Trooper Scott Quintero responded to a report of a 911 hang-up on Donut Point Lane in Port Clyde. Quintero located the residence and found it was a vacant home.

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock arrested Craig Davis, 40, on an outstanding warrant in Rockland.

Quintero responded to a report of a residential alarm on Smuggler’s Cove Road in Tenants Harbor. The residence was secure and heavy winds are believed to have set off the alarm.

Jan. 27

Troopers Chris Crawford and Mark Barney stopped Michael Benner, 59, on Route 131 in St. George for erratic operation. Benner was arrested for operating under the influence and was taken to the Knox County Jail.

Troopers Quintero and Adam McNaughton arrested Bernie White, 32, of Cushing on an outstanding warrant at a residence in Warren. He was taken to the Knox County Jail.

Jan. 28

Trooper Donald Webber stopped Tyler Widdecomb, 20, of Rockport on Route 17 in Union for a traffic violation. Widdecomb was summoned for possession of marijuana.

Sgt. David Tripp stopped Shauna Riley, 41, on Route 17 in Hope for a vehicle defect. Riley was summoned for operating without a license and illegal attachment of plates.

Jan. 29

Quintero investigated a report of a theft on Summer Lane in South Thomaston. The complainant reported the theft of items by a previous roommate and the investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 30

Quintero stopped Mallory Follette, 19, on Route 73 in Owls Head for an inspection violation. Follette was summoned for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Quintero stopped Christopher Mills, 34, on Route 131 in South Thomaston. Mills was summoned for operating after suspension.

Wesbrock and Marine Patrol Officer Matthew Wyman responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Port Clyde Road in Tenants Harbor. A 59-year-old male lost control of his vehicle and went off the road. He was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport for minor injuries.

Jan. 31

Hood stopped a vehicle on Old County Road in Thomaston for a vehicle defect. Passenger Sharon Matson, 42, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to the Knox County Jail.
