Spectrum Generations offers the Alternative Lunch Break for those looking for a unique way to spend the midday hour. On Monday, Feb. 22 at noon, Spectrum Generations will present Care Giving 101. The session will cover a broad range of topics and questions that caregivers face each day.

A caregiver is defined as a family member, friend or neighbor who is an informal provider of care. Included in the caregiver category are grandparents or kin, 55 or older raising relative children 18 and younger. Family caregiving may be short term, long term or indefinite. Each situation, although unique, may havesimilar physical, emotional and economic connections.

A family caregiver specialist will facilitate the meeting and discuss resources for family caregivers and some of the challenges that caregivers face. The session will also offer ways to get connected with additional services and provide answers on aging and caregiving questions.

Attendees should bring their lunch and questions to the free program at 61 Park St. in Rockland. For more information or to register so Spectrum Generations has enough materials for handouts, call 596-0339.
