The Owls Head Transportation Museum will offer free family activities during February school vacation, Monday, Feb. 15 to Friday, Feb. 19. The sessions begin at 10 a.m. and vary in length.

On Monday, Feb. 15, the museum will present its popular Styrofoam Airplane Workshop. Participants will use special tools to make their own foam airplanes, decorate them with colored markers and stickers, and let them fly. No registration is required. The activity will be repeated during WinterFest on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.

On Tuesday, Feb. 16, participants will build stick-and-tissue rubber band-powered airplanes.

The workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 17 is on rubber band-powered cars.

A Hot Air Balloon Workshop will be held Thursday, Feb. 18. Participants will build their own hot air balloons and test fly them inside the museum.

The week will end Friday, Feb. 19 with a paper modeling activity that allows participants to build their own model covered wagon, just like the original currently on display in the museum.

Seating and materials are limited and registration is required for the activities on Tuesday through Friday at 594-4418. Admission to the activities is free. Admission for visitors to the museum is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. Visitors under the age of 18 are admitted free.
