Gary G. MacMillan, 71, of Jacksonville, Texas, and formerly of Thomaston, died Jan. 18, 2010, in Tyler, Texas, after a long illness.

Gary was born in Malartic, Quebec, Canada. He was the third son of Garfield and Cecilia MacMillan.

Gary grew up and attended schools in Thomaston. He worked at Vinal’s Dairy while in school. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from Lipton Tea Company as a production supervisor.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, James MacMillan and Miles “Bud” MacMillan; and his nephew, Dean MacMillan.

He is survived by his wife, Clara MacMillan of Jacksonville, Texas; his three sons, Keith MacMillan of Dallas, Texas, Jeff MacMillan and his wife, Kathy, of Arp, Texas, and Chris MacMillan and his friend Patricia Whitener of Jacksonville, Texas; his brother, Alan MacMillan and his wife, Lisa, of Manchester, Conn.; his two sisters, Mona Willis and her husband, John, of Woonsocket, R.I., and Sherry Steele and her husband, James, of Owls Head; and his grandchildren, Erica Zierk of Washington state, Heidi McCaslin of Key West, Fla., and Zachary of North Carolina. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Burial services will be at a later date.
