An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

The Waldoboro Police Department reported the following activity from Jan. 19 to Jan. 25.

Jan. 19

Officer Michel Dutil investigated an accident on Depot Street at 7:02 a.m. Dacota Robbins, 20, of Waldoboro was driving a 1989 Chevrolet four-door sedan that sustained $800 in damage. Robbins was traveling northbound on Depot Street. Due to weather and road conditions Robbins went off the road and struck a tree. There were no injuries.

Dutil investigated an accident on Union Road at 11:43 a.m. Caitlyn Brazier, 16, of Waldoboro was driving a 2001 Saturn four-door sedan that sustained $500 in damage. Brazier was traveling south on Atlantic Highway and began to turn onto Union Road. Due to weather and road conditions, Brazier went off the road and struck a state Department of Transportation sign in the median. There were no injuries.

Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report that unknown subjects assaulted a resident and stole $20 worth of beer while the resident was en route to the car from a store.

Jan. 21

Dutil investigated an accident on Storer Mountain Road at 7 a.m. James Letteney, 27, of Waldoboro was driving a 2004 Chevrolet four-door sedan that sustained $1,500 in damage. Eugene Thomas, 75, of Waldoboro was driving a 2003 Honda sport utility vehicle that sustained $1,500 in damage. Letteney was traveling south on Storer Mountain Road. Thomas was traveling north on Storer Mountain Road. Letteney lost control of the vehicle due to road conditions and crossed into the opposing lane. Letteney collided with Thomas. There were no injuries.

Dutil investigated an accident on Washington Road at 12:11 p.m. Clifton Olsen, 71, of Warren was driving a 2005 Volvo four-axle single unit that sustained $2,000 in damage. There were no injuries. Olsen was traveling northbound on Washington Road. An unknown vehicle was traveling south on Washington Road. Olsen said the unknown driver was crowding the road and Olsen compensated by moving over to the right side of the road. Olsen lost control of the vehicle due to road conditions and struck a utility pole. The other vehicle did not stop at the scene.

Jan. 24

Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report of the theft of some oil from Dunkin’ Donuts.

Jan. 25

Fuller is investigating a report of a possible identity theft.
