Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 16 through 19, families are invited to the Farnsworth Art Museum for a week of fun, in-gallery and studio art activities. The Play-cation winter vacation family festival also will include a daily live performance in the downtown museum’s auditorium.

Each day will have a different exhibition highlight accompanied by hands-on art activities such as printmaking basics, an assemblage project inspired by the work of artist Louise Nevelson, a scavenger hunt and more. The live performances will feature dance by the Terra Diddle Collective, Bolivian music by the group Pink Illimani, African drumming and dance by Djump! and classical music by Josie and Sophie Davis of the Calliope Quartet.

The programs will run from 9:15 a.m. to noon daily, with entrance through the main lobby on Museum Street. For specific information about each day’s activities, ¬†visit farnsworthmuseum.org/education.

The program is suggested for children age 5 through 9 and is limited to 35 children per day. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the seating is limited to one parent per child. The fee is $15 per child per day, free for those with a Farnsworth Family Membership. Full scholarships are available, inquire when registering.) Admission is free for parent or accompanying adult.
