February is National Children’s Dental Health month. The Coastal Children’s Museum in Rockland will celebrate by hosting a dental health day Friday, Feb. 5.

Dental hygienist Christine Clossy will offer a drop-in event at the museum from 2 to 3 p.m. She will talk to children about the best way to keep their teeth healthy and their smiles shining.

The American Dental Association encourages children to learn good habits at an early age and uses the month of February to educate families about the importance of a healthy mouth. Clossy, a local dental assistant, will provide fun materials that visitors can take home to teach the rest of the family.

This is a free event for all members of the museum and for non-members the price is included in the admission fee. For information about school and group rates, e-mail info@coastalchildrensmuseum.org. While at the event, visitors can check out the many  exhibits, including the new sailboat Lady Bug and the touch tank of sea life.

The Coastal Children’s Museum is located at 75 Mechanic St. in Rockland. For more information visit coastalchildrensmuseum.org or call 385-1105.
