An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls from Jan. 19 to Jan. 24.

Jan. 19

Trooper Scott Quintero stopped to check a vehicle off the road on Route 235 in Union. Investigation revealed that Catherine Brooks, 19, lost control and slid off the road. Brooks was summoned for operating after suspension and also for having a passenger with an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

Jan. 20

Quintero responded to a report of a subject intentionally plowing snow into a driveway on Heald Highway in Union. Investigation revealed a contractor from last season had not been paid and admitted to plowing the snow. When contacted, he removed the snow and was issued a trespass warning.

Jan. 21

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock investigated a report of a gas drive off at Four Corner Variety in Union. The store reported a small, blue vehicle had driven off without paying for $33 in gas. The investigation continues.

Jan. 22

Wesbrock and Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy John Palmer arrested Devin Davis, 23, in Warren on an outstanding warrant. He was taken to the Knox County Jail.

Jan. 23

Quintero responded to a report of a family fight on Appleton Road in Union. Investigation revealed a verbal argument between a male and a female. The argument was verbal only and the female was taken to another residence for the night.

Quintero stopped Brandon Melanson, 23, on Route 17 in Union for a vehicle defect. Melanson was summoned for operating an unregistered vehicle more than 150 days.

Jan. 24

Quintero investigated a report of a stolen vehicle on Island Road in Spruce Head. Separate to the complaint Sean Fuller, 45, was summoned for possession of marijuana. An investigation on the stolen vehicle is ongoing.
