Donna Sue Gower, 44, a resident of Dunbar Road, died suddenly at the Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport Jan. 25, 2010.

Donna was born Oct. 25, 1965, in Rockland, the daughter of Ralph and Donna Elwell Gower Sr. She attended Cushing and Thomaston schools, receiving her GED from Georges Valley High School.

She was employed as a med-tech in local nursing homes, most recently with the Riverwood facility in Warren.

She loved to ride her Harley and pull practical jokes on her family and friends. She was known for her distinctive laugh.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Ralph Gower Jr.

She is survived by three sisters, Vicky Gower and her companion Mark Johnson of Thomaston, Joan Stover and her husband, Harold, of Boothbay and Debra Hoermann and her husband, Richard, of Waldoboro; a brother, Albert Gower of Farmington; her boyfriend, John Drysdale of Thomaston; an uncle, Frank Elwell and his wife, Linda, of Waldoboro; two nieces, Amber Gower of St. George and Jamie Masonoff of Thomaston; a nephew, Mark Johnson of Thomaston; a wide circle of extended family and friends; and her two cats, JoJo and Elvis.

A gathering with informal sharing of stories of Donna’s life will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Hall & Bibber Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 78 Main St. in Thomaston.
