The Hope Elementary School eighth-grade class will hold a Cabin Fever Reliever-themed dinner and silent auction Friday, March 12. Proceeds will fund the class trip to Boston, graduation and a class gift to leave behind to the school, according to the school newsletter.

The class plans to visit the Museum of Science, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Blue Man Group show, the Freedom Trail and Six Flags New England. The trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, creating amazing memories for the class. The class needs to raise $8,000 for the trip and class activities. They are almost halfway there and hope to reach the goal with help from the community. The dinner and silent auction is their biggest fundraising event of the year.

Donations are needed for the silent auction. Items can include gift certificates, gift baskets, services or any other new product. Contributions are tax deductible. Donation forms are available in the office or students can take them home. All items donated need to be presented by Friday, March 5, at the very latest. To arrange for pick up of a donation, call Lori Hoppe at 785-4175 or Jonathan Davis (eighth-grade advisor) at 785-4081.

The class will invite people from the community and beyond to the auction. It should be a fun-filled evening, with eighth-grade students serving dinner and helping to prepare for the event. For tickets, call the school at 785-4081. Tickets cost $7 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 years old, $20 for a family, and free for children under 5.
