The first Library Coffeehouse of the year will feature a group of high school musical all stars, performing together as The Cause. They will entertain at the downtown Camden Public Library Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. The students are donating their talents, so all ticket proceeds can benefit the Coffeehouse and help perpetuate live music in Camden. Suggested donation at the door will be $5.

The members of The Cause combine and recombine in solos, duos, trios and full ensemble. Membership is somewhat fluid, but musicians one can expect to hear include Evan Bianchi, emcee and piano; Wyatt McLean, songwriter and guitarist; Aurora Stromberg and Maddie Chilton, vocal duos and more; Those Guys — Rick McClelland, Calvin Parent and Gage Lyons — with traditional blues and more; Anna Rich, singing show tunes and combos; Sarah Palermo and Alice Limoges, vocals and songwriting; and more.

Many of the musicians will be familiar from the musicals at Camden Hills Regional High School. They perform an exciting mix of music from classical piano and acoustic guitar to traditional blues and show tunes with talent far beyond their years, said guitarist Martin Gibson.

“Whatever the future holds for all of us, it is reassuring to know that the future of live music, original songwriting and vocal and instrumental virtuosity in Maine rests very securely in the hands of these performers,” he said.
