Camden-Rockport Elementary School held its annual National Geographic Society Geography Bee on Jan. 11 with Principal Jan Staples as judge and timekeeper.

All fourth graders participated in a preliminary competition just before the December break. Ten students then moved on to the final school round held on Jan. 11, and in the end, the 2010 school champion was Harry Homans, who will next take a written test to try to qualify for the state bee, scheduled for April 9. Cooper Russell was second place winner and Jake Lowe was third place winner. First place winners from each state will eventually advance to the National Level Bee held in Washington, D. C., on May 25 and 26.
