An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

The Waldoboro Police Department reported the following activity from Jan. 5 to Jan. 10.

Jan. 5

Officer Michel Dutil is investigating a report that someone broke into a residence.

Jan. 7

Dutil investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 2:13 p.m. Wendy Benner, 50, of Waldoboro was driving a 1996 Toyota four-door sedan that sustained $1,500 in damage. Robert Herzing, 26, of Manchester was driving a 2005 Chevrolet four-door sedan that sustained $500 in damage. Benner entered Atlantic Highway from Winslow’s Mills Road, traveling southbound on Atlantic Highway. Herzing was traveling northbound on Atlantic Highway, approaching the intersection of Route 32. An unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Atlantic Highway. Herzing changed lanes to make a right turn at the intersection. Benner signaled to turn left into the Waldoboro Smoke Shop. The unknown vehicle stopped to allow Benner to make the turn and Herzing and Benner collided. There were no injuries.

Jan. 10

Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 8:30 a.m. James Garrett, 69, of Marlborough, Conn., was driving a 2003 Nissan four-door sedan that sustained $900 in damage. A deer running across the road struck Garrett’s front fender and door. There were no injuries.

Officer Sean Kozer arrested Bernadine Pozerycki, 42, of Waldoboro on a violation of conditional release.
