An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
The Lincolnville Police Department reported the following activity for the week ending Jan. 12:
Jan. 6
Officer Brian Lunt responded to Beach Road for a complaint of an unsecured premises. Lunt observed an open window, but no indication of foul play.
Lunt responded to a motor vehicle complaint on Camden Road. The vehicle was out of location and the complaint was referred to the Camden Police Department.
Lunt responded to Greenacre Road to assist the code officer in securing and barricading a burned building.
Lunt responded to a request for a police escort on Belfast Road. After speaking with the complainant Lunt determined the request a civil matter and advised the party to resolve the issue through the court system.
Jan. 9
Officer Robert Cartier responded to Greenacre Road for service of paperwork.
Jan. 10
Cartier conducted radar details on Main Street, Searsmont Road and Atlantic Highway. Four written warnings were issued.
Cartier followed up on a complaint of a person being harassed and an alleged probation violation from a Sea View Drive resident. Following a concurrent investigation with Maine State Police, both parties were served harassment orders.
Jan. 11
Cartier responded to Hope Road for service of paperwork.
Cartier responded to Searsmont Road for an agency assist.
Jan. 12
Gene Stimpson, 48, of Belfast was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with an expired driver’s license more than 90 days overdue by Cartier on Main Street. Stimpson was also issued a written warning for an inspection sticker violation.
Cartier conducted a radar detail on Main Street. Two written warnings were issued.
