Nomination papers are available at the St. George Town Office for three elected positions.

Regional School Unit 13 board member George Emery’s three-year term is set to expire. Emery has taken out papers for the position.

Two spots on the Select Board will also be voted on as part of the March town meeting. Both are three-year terms. Former Select Board member Steve Miller has taken out papers for the position currently held by Keith Miller. Don Lunt has taken out papers to run against Steve Miller. Pete Smith has taken out papers for the position currently held by Lunt.

The warrant for the March 9 meeting is being prepared for publication. Town Manager John Falla said Jan. 11 that he expects it to be available by the end of the month, both in print at the town office and online on the town’s Web site.

In other St. George news, the Select Board finalized its budget for presentation to the budget committee on Jan. 4. The committee was expected to make its recommendations Jan. 11 on the 2010 budget.

Voting for the positions on the Select Board and the RSU 13 board will be held Monday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the St. George Fire House meeting room. The town meeting will be held Tuesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. in the same location.
