Knox County Republicans to host LePage

ROCKLAND — The Knox County Republicans will hold their monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Trade Winds Motor Inn, 2 Park Drive in Rockland. They will host Waterville Mayor Paul LePage, candidate for the Republican nomination for governor. The meeting will be preceded by a meet and greet starting at 6:30 p.m.

LePage is a politically experienced businessman who is both the general manager of Marden’s and mayor of one of Maine’s major cities. He believes in the repeal of all new sales taxes and was one of the most outspoken supporters of TABOR in the state.

In addition to hearing from LePage, the group will continue planning for the 2010 municipal caucuses and county convention, prepare for the annual Lincoln Day Dinner, receive updates from the standing sub-committees, and discuss what is going on in Washington and Augusta. As always, all Knox County residents interested in working for a positive change in Augusta are invited to attend. For more information visit, e-mail or call 594-5118.
