There were no serious injuries Wednesday night when a car slammed into the rear of a pickup truck on Park Street in Rockland.
According to an accident report by Rockland police, Roy A. Thompson, 40, of Topsham, Vt., was stopped on Park Street near New County Road because a car in front of him was attempting to turn left into a convenience store parking lot.
Destiny L. Watt, 27, of Waldo was driving a 1997 Ford four-door car and failed to see Thompson’s stopped truck in time to avoid a crash.
Watt complained of pain to her knees and was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport and treated and released. Thompson was not injured. Watt was not wearing her seat belt but her vehicle’s airbag deployed.
Damage to her car was estimated at $4,000. Damage to Thompson’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m.
