Meghan Wilson has opened a day spa in Cushing.

“I specialize in aging and teen skin,” she said in an e-mail. “I love to help people with problem skin, having dealt with that problem myself.”

She said the unusual name for her business, I’ Natural Day Spa, was inspired by her grandmother’s name for her cosmetic business in the past.

The spa provides facials, body treatments, hot stones, waxing, and spray tanning, and will soon add makeup applications. It’s located at Nail Techniques at 5 Lovers Lane in Cushing (about 1.5 miles from the Thomaston Prison Showroom) and can be reached at 207-701-9928.

Wilson said she opened her business in September in a room rented at Nail Techniques.

She studied spa therapy for a year at the Capilo Institute in Augusta and has attained her state license.

She said she became interested in the field after a friend started studying it. “She practiced on me and I liked it, so I took a course and ended up loving it,” Wilson said.

“I use Bioelements for my skin care line,” she said. “And I will be carrying Sorme cosmetics very soon.”

Wilson’s business also offers spray tanning parties.

“A spray tan party is like that of a candle party,” she said. “You will learn all about the benefits of sunless tanning and the dangers of natural and artificial tanning. Spray tanning is a safe and healthy way to keep your tan gorgeous year-round.”
