Snowmobile meeting

Guess what? It’s snowing as I write this so maybe there will be a chance for people to go snowmobiling. Why don’t you go to the Hatchet Mt. Sno-Riders snowmobile meeting, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Hope Town Hall. A potluck supper at 6 p.m. will be followed by a business meeting. I am sure they will discuss the trails and where they are. I know of one trail that has to be changed.

Midcoast Ladies Club

The Midcoast Ladies Club meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, weather permitting, at the First Aid Station on John Street. The program will start at 10 a.m. Members and guests will be asked to tell stories about themselves when they were younger or stories about other people. At noon sandwiches will be ordered from Subway. People should bring their own drinks. Gail and Barbara will be furnishing dessert plus dishes to serve it onĀ and napkins. If anyone does not want a Subway sandwich they should bring their own lunch. Also at noon will be a giant silent auction. Be sure to bring many items for this sale. During the business meeting the new programs and membership lists will be passed out.

Well we started the year out right with a lot of snow. At my house we got over 14 inches and that did not count where the wind blows it. A neighbor told me he got 16 inches of snow on his grill. Plus a woman in North Hope said that at 11 p.m. on Saturday on top of a car they had received 11 inches.

Society needs your help

The Hope Historical Society needs your help. Last year it started the project of publishing a new Hope Chronicle. This is a booklet that lists people’s names, occupations, and birth dates plus the businesses in Hope. There are people on several roads that have not been contacted to get this information. If you would like to help complete this project the society sure could use you help. Please call Gwen at 785-4433, Faith at 763-3108 or Mary at 763-4806. Let’s help them finish this project.

Class lunch

Members of the class of 1958 are reminded that their lunch will be held Thursday, Jan. 14 at noon at the Village Restaurant in Camden. If you have questions, call 763-3343. See you there.
