The Thomaston Public Library is introducing a series of monthly programs called the Saturday Family Story Hour. Each month a representative from the various Thomaston  boards, departments or committees will read a selection of stories to children of all ages. The community gathering will be an opportunity for families and elected and appointed Thomaston officers to share a fun hour together.

The first program will be held Saturday Jan. 23 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the newly renovated children’s room of the library. Nancy Carter, a Thomaston selectman and library volunteer, will read some of her favorite winter stories.

Future programs will be held on the third Saturday of each month. The readers will include the town manager, selectmen, the police chief and the head of the Academy Building Board of Trustees.
