Ramona Dawn (Rines) Taliento, 91, died peacefully Jan. 4, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of the late Alton and Mini Rines. Mona grew up on Willard Beach and graduated from South Portland High School in the Class of 1936 and Northeast Business College in the Class of 1938.

Mona worked for 25 years as administrative assistant for her husband at Tally Brothers Inc. Mona was an avid reader and traveled extensively; she particularly loved her many trips to Europe.

Mona married her high school sweetheart, Neil J. Taliento, and they enjoyed nearly 70 years together. Mona and Neil lovingly cared for one another, and adored their grandchildren, friends and extended family.

Mona was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Carroll “the Eye” Rines.

Mona is survived by her husband, Neil J. Taliento; a daughter, Dawn Harlor of Camden; a son, Neil C. Taliento and his wife, Vickie, of Chebeague Island; three grandchildren, Emilia and Michelena of Chebeague Island and David Harlor of Camden.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, Jan. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodfords St. in Portland. The funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
