Searsmont man traps 50-pound bobcat

Searsmont — Pete Tinker of Searsmont trapped a 50-pound bobcat earlier this month.
The Tom bobcat was much larger than the average bobcat which traditionally weighs 22 to 28 pounds.
The state bobcat record, according to Tinker, is about 56 pounds.
