	        The town of Rockport has plans to turn a property acquired for non-payment of taxes into a carry-in/carry-out access point to Chickawaukie Pond.
The property, which currently has a camp and outhouse on site, is located at the end of Winding Way, off of Old County Road on a private road named Chickawaukie Pond Road. The lot provides 35 feet of frontage on the pond and has a sandy shoreline that gradually deepens.

	        Thomaston Assessors' Agent David Martucci said Walmart's permits are in place and the corporation has hinted at issuing bid packages for construction at the end of the month.

	        St. George residents approved the town budget and Articles 6 through 29 at town meeting on Tuesday, May 15 at the Tenants Harbor Fire Station.
