Kathryn grew up in the mid-west Illinois and Michigan. In 1974 her love of sailing took her to Florida where she sailed as first mate on "Tern" a 33 Swiftsure to the Bahamas, and many of the Caribbean Islands. She met her husband Gordon, who had just built a 48 ft catch "Moondancer" in England. They spent the rest of the season sailing and chartering the Caribbean Islands where they sold "Moondancer". They built "Memory" in 1979, a 65-foot schooner with a 10-ton cargo hold and did inter-island trading of Haitian art and woodworking, coffee and handwork from Venezuela to the East Coast of the United States.

Kathryn and Gordon sailed to New York City in 1986 and representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Tall Ships parade. With the opportunity close at hand to sail on to the coast of Maine, Kathryn and family fell in love with the Mid-Coast area and Penobscot Bay.

In 1996 the Baxter's built the 3 masted 105 foot Schooner Kathryn B. for the overnight passenger trade. Sailing with only 10 to 12 guests in luxury private staterooms, the Kathryn B, was based in The Caribbean, the Chesapeake Bay, and Maine. The Kathryn B. was sold in 2005 to a couple that took her south.

Kathryn's enthusiasm and love of the Mid-Coast area will be contagious to you. Her knowledge of this area after residing in Hope for 20 years is widespread. Her daughter Ashley is a graduate of the DownEast School of Massage in Waldoboro, and a 2004 graduate of Camden Hill High School. Her twin sons, Morgan and Andrew are sophomores at Camden Hills Regional High School.

Kathryn has a strong sense of family values and pride of her community and various school systems in the area. She was a Hope Elementary school board member from 1999 to 2005, and chair for 3 years. Presently representing Hope on the 5 town Camden Hills High School Board gives Kathryn a keen insight to curriculum needs, and vision on raising the bar on school excellence.

Kathryn's strength in Real Estate is her background in sales and marketing. From designing and selling children's' clothing under the label of Blossoms' to Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Storybook Heirlooms Catalog, and numerous specialty boutiques, to the sales of the cruises aboard the Schooner Kathryn B. "When I list a property I find what the unique aspects to the property are and promote the property through Town and Country’s strong marketing plan. When not listing or selling real estate you might find Kathryn at a ski race, soccer field, baseball game, or a horse show with Ashley.

Representing Buyers or Sellers, Kathryn can help guide you through the Real Estate process. A Top Gun Graduate, and recently recognized by PPH as a Premier Mortgage Agent, her special training in mortgage loans, makes the time from getting you under contract to closing the property, smooth and seamless. Call Kathryn's special mortgage number 7 days a week to get pre-approved 800-486-149.
