Who are the ekklesia at the John Street United Methodist Church?
February 5 is the fifth Sunday after the Epiphany. During Epiphany Season worshippers at the John Street United Methodist church have learned that together THEY are the ekklesia. Each of them is a evangel, responding to God’s Good News and ministering to others in the name of the Evangel (Jesus.)
Pastor Peg Moser interprets the significance of the season clearly during worship, helping the congregation broaden their understanding of being a Christian. This week we will celebrate communion, and all persons are welcome to partake, regardless of their affiliation or non-affiliation with any church.
Once again, Jim May and Dorothy Koski will provide music leadership. The choir will sing the anthem, “Tell Out, My Soul.”
The Old Testament reading will be from Psalm 147: 1-11, 20c, and from the New Testament, Mark 1:20-39.
All are welcome to attend worship and the fellowship time followingl
