Waldoboro — The Lincoln County Fish & Game Association and Medomak Valley Land Trust were to partner to host the fifth annual youth ice-fishing day on Saturday, Feb. 16 on Kaler’s Pond, located behind Dow Furniture on Route 1.

However, that event has been canceled.

Children under age 16 were invited to try their hand at ice fishing with help from seasoned fishermen and women. All the necessary equipment (tip-ups, bait, etc) for children to enjoy a day of ice fishing was to be provided.

It was a free event open to the public.

Fishing was to begin at 8 a.m. and a barbecue lunch was to be served beginning at 11 a.m.
