Young people’s open mic in Thomaston

Thomaston — The Federated Church, 8 Hyler St., is offering local young people, both singers and instrumentalists, a chance to perform at an Open Mike night in its fellowship room Sunday, Jan. 13. Local singer/songwriter Patrick Chamberlin will serve as emcee for the event, which will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Free refreshments will be served.

Interim Pastor Annette Mott said that the event is designed to offer young people — middle school age through young adult — a chance to show off their talent and creativity in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Should there be a good response, the church hopes to offer similar open mic nights in the future as a gift to the Thomaston community.

For more information and/or to pre-register to perform on Jan. 13, contact Gail Robinson at 354-8117 or Annette Mott at 737-9979.
