Young Architects Workshop at Planet Toys

Rockland — Planet Toys on Main Street will hold a Young Architects Workshop with children's author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen of Camden Saturday, Dec. 8 at from 1 to 3 p.m.

Van Dusen will read from his new book, “If I Built A House,” and encourage children to let their imaginations fly as they plan and design a house of their own.

There will be lots of art materials on hand for young architects, and all drawings will be displayed at Planet Toys for a week. The artist chosen by the Planeteers as Most Imaginative will win a free signed copy of Van Dusen's book. Van Dusen also will sign personalized copies of “If I Built A House,” as well as many of his other books including “If I Built A Car,” “Randy Riley's Really Big Hit,” “The Circus Ship,” “Down to the Sea With Mr. Magee,” “A Camping Trip with Mr. Magee,” “Learning to Ski with Mr. Magee” and “King Hugo's Huge Ego.”

The event is geared towards children age 4 to 12. There is no charge, but space is limited; call 596-5976 to reserve a place. To reserve signed copies of Van Dusen's books, call the Rockland store or Planet Camden, 236-4410.
