Yager paintings at Jackson Memorial

“Apple Tree: The End of Waiting” by Carmella Yager is part of the late-summer fine art show at Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor.

Tenants Harbor — Jackson Memorial Library, 71 Main St./Route 131, will exhibit paintings by St. George artist Carmella Yager Friday, Aug. 29, through Sept. 29. An artist’s reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 29, with By the Bay providing live music.

Yager studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Her work was exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where she later taught painting and drawing for 20 years. In 1994, Yager was commissioned by Massachusetts General Hospital to paint a large mural. She lives in Tenants Harbor with her husband, Dennis.
