Woman arrested for driving drunk with kids in tow
Rockland — A 33-year-old Washington mother was arrested Aug. 3 for driving under the influence of alcohol while her three children were in the vehicle.
Crystal A. Saunders is charged with operating under the influence and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child after she was stopped by Rockland Police Officer Scott Redmun at the intersection of Pleasant and Lisle Street, said Deputy Chief Wally Tower.
Saunders will make an initial court appearance Aug. 4 in Sixth District Court. She is held at the Knox County Jail on $250 cash bail.
Saunders was stopped for impaired driving and then failed a field sobriety test. The children, ages 4, 12, and 13 were turned over to a family member, Tower said.
