Rockport — Bay Chamber Concerts is this year’s sponsor of the Great Cabin Fever Escape Show. John Orlando’s third annual show is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7, from 7:30 p.m. to midnight at the Rockport Opera House and will feature international touring act The Wiyos, recent openers for Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp.

The Wiyos have been rolling for more than a decade, one of the first "old-timey" bands to emerge on the national scene in the first wave of acoustic bands riding the renewed popularity of early swing jazz, rural folk, old-time blues and Appalachian music. Touring in the United States and Europe, and numerous critically acclaimed albums and EPs, landed them a full 28-day summer tour as openers of the 2009 Bob Dylan Show. The Wiyos also were featured in the BBC television documentary "Folk America — Hollerers, Stompers and Old-Time Ramblers."

Opening the evening will be special guests, and the Midcoast's own, The Dolphin Strikers and DJ Terry Frank. Tickets are $25 in advance and will be $30 day-of-show. The Great Cabin Fever Escape Show concert is a 21-and-older event with positive ID required. There will be a cash bar and prize giveaways.

Tickets available at Bay Chamber Concerts, located on the top floor of Rockport’s downtown Shepard Building; HAV II and Zoot Coffee in Camden; Hope General Store; and Rock City Café in Rockland. A portion of the proceeds will benefit WERU-FM, which is having ticket and CD giveaways leading up to the event.
