With five athletes, Oceanside fourth in Mid-Maine TournamentStone battles way to first at 195 pounds
Pittsfield — The Oceanside wrestling squad earned a first, second, two thirds and a fourth during the Mid-Maine Tournament Dec. 28. The event was hosted by Maine Central Institute.
Mariner Travis Stone finished first in the 195-pound class.
The team scores were: Ellsworth 184, Morse of Bath 107, Maine Central Institute 89, Oceanside of Rockland/Thomaston 61, Medomak Valley "A" 59, Mount View of Thorndike "A" 52, Bucksport 51, Mount View "B" 13, Orono 8, John Bapst of Bangor 7.5, Medomak Valley "B" 4 and Ellsworth "B" no score.
The individual Oceanside results, with Mariners listed first, were:
106 pounds — Jonathan Robishaw pinned Rayanne Leach, Med, at 0:31; and was pinned by Kyle Bonti, Mor, at 4:30 in the championship final. Robishaw finished second.
120 pounds — Dallas Ball lost to Matt Stewart, Buck, 12-6; pinned Deagan Poland, Med, at 0:54; and won by major decision over Ryan Kiah, JB, 18-6 in the consolation final. Ball finished third.
160 pounds — Tony Baudanza pinned Nick Anderson, Med, at 3:40; was pinned by Sam Lounder, Ells, at 0:57; pinned Colin Toothaker, Ells, at 0:19; and pinned Kyle Perry, Mor, at 4:59 in the consolation final. Baudanza finished third.
195 pounds — Travis Stone pinned Seth Wilcox, MCI, at 0:56 in the championship final. Stone finished first.
285 pounds — Alex Rackliffe was pinned by Devan Fuller, MtV, at 0:59; and was pinned by Chris Cole, MtV, at 0:28 in the consolation final. Rackliffe finished fourth.
