The Open Air Market in Winterport will be open Saturday, July 7, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Stop in and discover the variety of items they have for sale.
The American flags are up on Main Street and look great. Thanks to Stan Bowden and Kippy Doe for putting them up. A special thanks goes to the anonymous donor who left an envelope at the Town Office marked "Flags." Donations are still being accepted, since Peter borrowed from Paul, and now Paul has to be paid back. Donations in any amount may be sent to Winterport Fire and Rescue Association, P.O. Box 724 , Winterport, ME 04496. Thanks to all who have already donated. It is greatly appreciated.
Ellingwoods Corner United Methodist Church, Route 69, Winterport. is having a yard sale and baked bean supper, Saturday, July 14. The yard sale is from 8 a.m. to noon. There are many new items in the thrift shop for people to look through. The supper is from 4-6 p.m., consisting of homemade baked beans with all the fixings. Take-out is available, and you can eat to your heart's content. Adults $6, children $3.
There will be a yard sale Saturday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winterport Fire Station. This is a Winterport Fire and Ambulance Appreciation Sale. Anyone having items in good condition (no clothes, please) to donate can drop them off at 239 Main St., Tammy Higgins' place of business, any time between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or at the fire station on Friday, July 27, after 6 p.m. There will be a raffle and lunch will be available. Stop by and you will get to meet the really important people behind the red and white vehicles.
Don't forget to call the library if you want a space on July 28 for the book and yard sale there. They are $25 a space, and you can have your own yard sale. Call 223-5540 for more info.
