Winter propagation of plants subject of Warren talk
Warren — Carol Yee of Swanville will do a hands-on demonstration of propagation by cuttings on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. at The Dr. Campbell House & Museum, 225 Main St., Warren. Participants are encouraged to bring cuttings of rhododendrons, conifers, hollies or other favorite evergreens. Learn about taking, preparing and sticking the cuttings and how to root them inside. If time allows, a short demonstration of how to sharpen clippers and cutting tools will follow the cutting workshop, so bring Felcos. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Yee moved her small specialty nursery from Northeast Connecticut to Maine in 2009. She started Carol's Collectibles in 1996 after discovering the miracle of creating new plants from older gardens. While building her nursery at home, she worked for 10 years at a large wholesale nursery in the Propagation Department. She sells unusual rhododendrons, conifers, perennials and ornamental shrubs at the Belfast and Camden Farmers Markets and at her nursery in Swanville.
