Lewiston — Do not look now, but the Camden Hills boys lacrosse team is surging toward the postseason.
The Windjammers now are winners of four straight matches on the heels of a 12-2 road victory over St. Dominic Academy on Wednesday, May 28.
Camden Hills also has recent wins over Lake Region of Bridgton, Oak Hill of Sabattus and Mountain Valley of Rumford.
Leading the Windjammer offense Wednesday were Parker Lawson (4 goals, 2 assists), Marshall Spear (3 goals, 2 assists), Jonah Cameron (goal), Jack Orne (goal), Simon Lydon (goal), Cyrus Demmons (goal, assist) Yani Stancioff (goal, assist) and Jet Magri (assist).
Aiden Gordon minded the net for Camden Hills, while Richard Vokey started his first varsity game for the Windjammers. Alex Carver, Sean Beachum and Zach Pitcairn also had strong games for Camden Hills, said coach Mark Hannibal.
The Windjammers look to make it five wins in a row on Friday, May 30 at home against winless Lincoln Academy.
In the Maine Principals' Association Heal Point Standings for Eastern Class B, Camden Hills (6-4, 30.6944 points) is sixth, while Maranacook/Winthrop (10-0, 95.2778 points) is first in the 12-team region. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs.
