Windjammers remain unbeaten with triumph over MCI/Nokomis

Griebel pumps in five goals, five assists, Rokous four goals for hosts

Rockport — The regular season dominance for the Camden Hills boys lacrosse team continued on Tuesday, May 16 as the Windjammers hosted Maine Central Institute/Nokomis — a cooperative program based out of Pittsfield — on Don Palmer Field.

The Windjammers, who have outscored opponents 76-26 through seven contests and are unbeaten the past two-plus regular seasons, continued to score in droves as they sailed to a lopsided 14-1 victory.

Camden Hills led 3-0 after the first quarter, 8-1 at halftime and 13-1 after three quarters.

Leading the Windjammer offense was Thomas Griebel (5 goals, 5 assists), Owen Rokous (4 goals, assist), Elliot Matlack (goal), Perrin Ganter (goal), Morgan Mercier (2 goals, assist), Matt Nickerson (2 assists), Marco D’Amato (assist) and Connor Davis (goal).

Bryce Henire scored the lone goal for MCI/Nokomis.

James Lynch and Jack Morse minded the net for Camden Hills, while Kollin Cobb played in goal for MCI/Nokomis.

In the Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings for Class B North, Camden Hills (7-0, 37.0833 points) is second, while Gardiner (8-0, 75.6944 points) is first in the 16-team region. The top 11 teams qualify for the playoffs.
