Win a train trip to Brunswick
Rockland — The Rockland Historical Society will hold a free lottery to award a pair of tickets and a single ticket for the Maine Eastern Train Excursion to Brunswick on Sunday, Oct. 7.
The historic fall excursion will leave the Rockland Station at 10:05 a.m., travel through fall foliage and cross the historic Carlton Bridge at Bath, arriving in Brunswick at 11:55 a.m. There one may take a special tour of the Joshua Chamberlain House and the Skolfield-Whittier House, offered by the Pejepscot Historical Society of Brunswick; or one may visit Bowdoin College or the shops on Maine Street, on his own. The return train will leave Brunswick at 2:05 p.m. and arrive back in Rockland at 4 p.m.
The free lottery tickets are available at the Reading Corner Bookshop on Main Street, Rockland, and at the Rockland Historical Society (open Tuesday and Thursday afternoons only). Fill out a lottery ticket at the Reading Corner, or the Historical Society, and drop it in the box. The winning tickets will be drawn on Thursday, Sept. 27 and the winners will be contacted that afternoon or evening.
