One of my favorite things about working at the Loyal Biscuit Co. is getting to know all of the customers and their pets. I’ve always said that a work day is not complete until I get dog slobber all over my glasses. But it isn’t quite fair of us to hog all the cuteness for ourselves, so every once and awhile I’ll be featuring a furry customer or two in a segment I’m calling “What’s Up, Pup?”. Today’s featured pooch (don’t worry, I’ll be featuring our kitty customers too!) is Zola the pug!
Age: I will be 3 in February
Which Loyal Biscuit Co. location do you like to frequent: Rockland
How did you and your human meet?: I was at this really fun place with lots of other dogs and she came to see me. It turns out pugs are one of her favorite kinds of dogs and she heard a special needs dog was looking for a home. (I always knew I was special!) She says pugs make her laugh. I was told later the place was a foster home. She took me for a ride to meet this really tall man in a place that smelled like meat. Mmmmm meat. Oh wait where was I? I guess he had to say yes before she could take me to her place. Of course he thought I was adorable and he couldn’t live without me. At least that is the story she told me. I have lived with those humans and their younger humans ever since.
What are some of your favorite places to visit outside of the Loyal Biscuit Co. OR if you are typically a housebound animal, where is your favorite place to lounge in the house?: I like to visit any place where I get butt scratches. At home my favorite spot is on top of my brother Jack because he is nice and warm. (He is a longcoated akita.)
How did you get your name?: My mum has a friend with the same name. Mum said I needed a name that was strong. I was really sick when I was young and wasn’t supposed to live very long. I guess the name magic worked because I’m still here!
What’s your favorite thing to eat?: I’m not allowed to have foods that aren’t on my special list but sometimes I get to lick the flavoring off the dinner plates. That is pretty cool.
If you could spend one day as a human, what would you do?: I don’t think I want to be a human. They have to work and pay bills. That doesn’t sound like fun at all!
Do you have any pet peeves?: Dogs I don’t know jumping on me and my sister Jenny trying to steal my food.
Do you have any hidden talents or know any special tricks?: Mum says cute is my superpower. Is that a trick?
If you were given $100 to spend on anything in the Loyal Biscuit Co., what would you buy?: I like things to chew on and stuffed toys to play tug with my brother Jack.
Describe your perfect day: I want to eat anything I want and not get sick. Then I would take a nap. Then I would rip apart a box. Then I would run around on a beach til I’m tired again and get my butt scratched while falling asleep on mum. She is almost as warm as Jack.
