This week The Courier-Gazette reporters are asking around town, "What is your favorite holiday memory from childhood?'

"On Christmas morning, my father would tell my sisters and me to take our seats around the tree. In the excitement, something would always happen to his coffee and he would have to make another one to build anticipation. He was more of a kid than we were." — Gloria Grierson, Rockland.
"Being around my family. One year my father dressed up as Santa, and I sat on his lap and said, 'you're not Santa, you're my daddy.' He gave me Mickey Mouse handkerchiefs." — Mary Maker, Owls Head.
"Making cookies." — Alicia McWilliams, Rockland.
"My happiest Christmas was the first one with my son." — Debbie Burgess, St. George.
