Heard on the Street

'What is your favorite Christmas song?'

Dec 08, 2012
"White Christmas." — Peggy Wadsworth, Waldoboro and Once A Tree

The Camden Herald staff asks: "What is your favorite Christmas song?" Editor's note, while many people could not recall the proper title of their favorite Christmas tune, most were willing and able to sing a few stanzas. When applicable, the actual names of the songs are noted in brackets.

"So This Is Christmas [ Happy Christmas], by John Lennon." — Lori Cressler, Appleton
"Angels We Have Heard on High." — Debbie Whittier, Camden
"There are so many good ones, I like them all." — Stephen Staples, Camden
"I like the songs by Mannheim Steamroller." — Debbie Hoops, Vero Beach, Fla.

"Silent Night" . . being the final song at church on Christmas Eve . . with all holding a lit candle and the lights off.  Tears of joy!

Do They Know it's Christmas (Feed the World) by Band Aid. A close second would be The Little Drummer Boy by The Harry Simeone Chorale.
