‘Water/Reflection’ of Midcoast talent
Damariscotta — River Arts on Route 1 invites the public to the opening reception for its latest juried exhibition, “Water/Reflection,” Friday, Sept. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. More than 90 pieces of art in a wide variety of media by 65 Maine artists from Lubec to Portland will be on view in the show, which will run until Oct. 2.
The juror for the exhibition is Jacques Vesrey, award-winning artist/sculptor who has shown worldwide and lectured on design and concepts within his work in France, Italy, England, Canada, China, New Zealand, Australia and 28 U.S. states.
Midcoast artists with work in the show include Larry Kinney and Robert Richardson of Camden; Petrea Noyes of Lincolnville; Brian Hitchcock, Jeremy Maxwell and Gwen Sylvester of Rockland; Lucinda Talbot of St. George; Dianne Horton of Swanville; Geoff Bladon of Tenants Harbor; Sherry Dec, Anne Heywood and Carl Solberg of Waldoboro; Brian Krebs and Polly McGrory of Warren; and Joan Freiman of Washington.
River Arts holds 10 themed, open, juried exhibitions per year, with some of Maine’s most prominent art community members as jurors. More than 800 different Maine artists have exhibited in these shows. The gallery program creates opportunity for artists to have their work selected, participate in the gallery process and sell their work.
