Waldoboro police blotter
The Waldoboro Police Department reported the following recent activity.
An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
Officer Sean Kozer investigated an accident on Genthner Road at 3:11 p.m. Jack Shank, 49, of Damariscotta was driving a 2003 Ford pickup truck. Shank was traveling west on Genthner Road when a deer ran across the road. Shank swerved to avoid the deer, went off the road to the right, and drove over a large rock and debris pile before hitting a tree. There were no injuries.
Officer Kozer investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 9:51 a.m. Rosa Espinel, 69, of Damariscotta was driving a 2002 Buick utility vehicle. Pamela Egan, 54, of South Bristol was driving a 1986 Toyota pickup truck. Egan was northbound on Atlantic Highway, and stopped to make a left turn into a parking lot. Espinel was northbound on Atlantic Highway behind Egan. Espinel struck the rear of Egan. Espinel stated she did not see the Toyota stopped until the last minute and attempted to swerve around the truck.
Officer Jeremy Joslyn summoned Travis Lee, 19, of Waldoboro for operating after suspension.
Officer Joslyn arrested Zachary Genthner, 20, of Waldoboro for a violation of conditional release.
Officer Joslyn arrested Bronson Simmons, 24, of Rockport for a drug/narcotic violation.
Officer Kozer investigated an accident on the Bremen/Main Street intersection. Donald Lord, 81, of Jefferson was driving a 2005 Chevrolet sedan. Ardelle Gile, 68, of Waldoboro was driving a 2001 Buck sedan. Gile was traveling west on Main Street. Lord was northbound on Bremen Road and stopped at the Bremen/Main Street intersection. Lord did not see Gile approaching and pulled into the intersection. Gile struck the passenger side of the Chevrolet. Gile had the right of way.
