Waldoboro — Waldoboro police officers responded to 148 calls for service Nov. 12 through Nov. 19. Below are a few of the highlights:

Nov. 12

Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a crash on Jefferson Street at 9:45 a.m. Benjamin Mullen, 33, of Waldoboro, who was driving a 2001 Saab sedan, was stopped in traffic at a stop sign. A second vehicle, driven by Philip Cohen, 44, of Waldoboro, who was driving a 2011 Cadillac utility vehicle, was backing out of a parking spot and backed into the Saab.

Hesseltine investigated a crash at the Atlantic Highway, Manktown intersection. Martha Bracy, 42, of St. George, was traveling west on Atlantic Highway in a 2008 Nissan sedan. Makayla Harriman, 16, of Warren, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck was on Manktown Road and approaching a stop sign at the intersection with Route 1. Harriman was unable to stop at the stop sign because of a possible vehicle defect, operator stated her brakes didn’t work. The truck went onto Route 1 and crashed into the Nissan. There were no injuries.

Nov. 14

Hesseltine arrested Nikolas Ames, 23, of Waldoboro for criminal threatening and criminal mischief.

Hesseltine is investigating a report from Ramona Carter that someone broke into her residence and stole approximately $2,600 worth of property.

Nov. 15

Officer Jeffery Fuller summoned Joshua Oliver, 33, of Nobleboro for theft.

Nov. 16

Hesseltine arrested Philip Cohen, 44, of Waldoboro for domestic violence assault.

Nov. 17

Fuller investigated a crash on Washington Road at 6:55 a.m. Madelon Kelly, 63, of Washington, was driving a 2010 Honda sedan and had stopped in the road on top of a hill for a chicken in the road. Isaac Moody, 26, of Phippsburg, who was driving a 1992 Oldsmobile sedan, came over the hill and hill, failed to see the Honda and hit the car. There were no injuries.

Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a complaint from Hannaford of a shoplifter.

Nov. 19

Officer Thomas Hoepner summoned a 16-year-old male from Friendship for possession of marijuana.

Hoepner summoned a 16-year-old male from Friendship for possession of tobacco.

Hesseltine is investigating a complaint from a resident that someone stole her mailbox.

Nov. 20

Hesseltine investigated a crash on Union Road at 9:15 a.m. Raymond Ashner, 70, of Waldoboro was traveling south in a 1999 Ford pickup when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle skidded across the road and struck a utility pole, breaking it off. Ashner complained of pain.

Hesseltine arrested Dezarae McPhee, 19, of Waldoboro on a warrant.

Nov. 22

Fuller investigated a crash on the Wagner Bridge Road at 6:23 a.m. Brian Soiette, 36, of Cushing was driving a 2011 Ford sedan and struck a deer crossing the road. No injuries were reported.

Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated a report of a burglary with some electronics taken.

Nov. 23

Fuller investigated a crash on Winslows Mills Road at 7 a.m. Catina Faulkingham, 41, of Friendship lost control due to operating too fast for road conditions. Faulkingham struck a parked 2007 Chevrolet belonging to Richard Lane of Jefferson. Damage was done to both Lane's truck and an attached trailer. No injuries were reported.

Fuller arrested Stephen Parmley, 61, of Waldoboro for domestic violence assault.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
