Waldo second selectman Herb Harnden wrote me, telling me that he missed last week’s selectman’s meeting because he had knee surgery that day. I can’t think of a better reason for missing a meeting. Let’s all wish Herb a speedy recovery.
Well, I’m another year older but probably no wiser. I celebrated my birthday last week in the usual method, which is by going to Angler’s Restaurant with my old friend John Avener. John always springs for deep-fried scallops and a Sam Adams lager every birthday. And as usual, I enjoyed the company immensely. The food was equally enjoyable.
Fishing should pick up this week. I hope it does, because I have promised to take my book publisher fishing. She will drive all the way from Topsham, so let’s hope that my Perchin’ Prediction is on the mark.
